Maria Carbone is a retired elementary school principal, having spent 35 years in education. Maria began her career as a teacher for the Hamilton Wentworth District School Board teaching in the primary, junior and intermediate area before becoming a Principal. Maria was always interested in the teaching field and dreamed of working with young children in a school setting. Mariaโs aspirations were influenced by her natural talents and abilities. She received her Honours Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from McMaster University, her Bachelor of Education and Ontario Teaching Certificate from the University of Toronto, and a Masters in Education (Curriculum) from Brock University. Mariaโs dedication to education and support for the community stemmed from her undergrad at McMaster University and is an inspiring story for all future, current and past McMaster students.
